StaffTimer is a powerful productivity solution that provides businesses with automated time tracking and detailed performance insights. Their platform is designed to help companies understand how work gets done, identify inefficiencies, and boost overall productivity. We partnered with StaffTimer to overhaul the user experience (UX) of their core application. The goal was to transform their complex database of productivity metrics into a clear, insightful, and empowering interface for both employees and managers.
Challenge & Solution
The central challenge was to present sensitive time-tracking and productivity data in a way that felt supportive and motivational, rather than like a surveillance tool. The interface needed to be intuitive for employees to track their own progress, while simultaneously providing managers with robust, high-level reporting. We had to dive deep into StaffTimer's complex database to create a design that could translate raw data into actionable, easy-to-understand visualisations for all user types.

Our Process
Our process was deeply collaborative and user-centric. We began by creating detailed user personas for both employees and managers to understand their distinct needs and concerns. Working closely with StaffTimer's technical team, we mapped out their database structure to ensure our designs were both ambitious and achievable. We then developed interactive, high-fidelity prototypes of the new dashboards and reporting tools, which were tested with existing StaffTimer users. This crucial feedback loop allowed us to refine the interface until it was truly intuitive and met the needs of everyone.
